International Prosecco Day

Summer 2023 hasn't handed us many opportunities to pop a cork but this Sunday the 13th is International Prosecco Day, and in better news, you won't even have to wait until 5pm to pop one. Perfect as an apéritif, served chilled with nibbles, Prosecco has become an international favourite for fans of sparkling wines and it will add some extra pizazz to any occasion, even to the brief appearance of a shiny gold ball.

As luck would have it, we recently added two new Proseccos to our portfolio from Spagnol Col De Sas who have been producing wine in the heart of the production of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG since 1986. However their history dates back longer than that as the family have been cultivating vineyards since the early 20th Century. They now own 34.5 hectares of vineyards on the hills and slopes of the prestigious territory and produce wine exclusively with their own grapes.

To celebrate International Prosecco Day we've introduced some savings on our newest proseccos so you can enjoy a taste of "la dolce vita" for less.

Spagnol, Prosecco Valdobbiadene, Quindici 16 Extra Brut

Was €36.95 Now €33

Quindici16 is a wine born of a blend of selected grapes from some of the vineyards cultivated in the best-suited zones of the Cisa hills in Solighetto and produced in two different vintages. It is intended to be bold and wholesome, with no added sugars, as it should express the quintessence of the territory and the Glera grape variety' potential when ripe. This is a wine that “sways” in perfect balance between flavour and minerality.

It has notes of ripe and dried fruits, especially hazelnuts. Dry and sapid, balanced. Dry finish, very persistent and mineral. It's a perfect match fro risotto, oily fish and pizza.

Spagnol, Prosecco Valdobbiadene Rive di Sollghetto Brut

Was €34.95 Now €31.50

Rive di Solighetto is the absolute cru, obtained from selected grapes from the vineyards in the areas best suited to this variety in the Cisa hill in Solighetto. These are the grapes that, once individually vinified are subjected to the sparkling process, and are then able to express the very quintessence of the territory. Thanks to its perfectly balanced bouquet and taste, it is an elegant, outstanding wine.

Bouquet of mature and exotic fruit, slightly balsamic. Intense and balanced flavour. Minerals and flavour highlighted. Perfect as an aperitif but also super with fish, pasta, white meat and vegetables.
