Teeling Whiskey is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of Irish Whiskey by introducing innovative and distinct expressions. Their Sommelier Selection series, an extension of the Small Batch Collaboration line, aims to showcase flavours from prestigious wine regions worldwide. The initial releases delved into the impact of French Margaux and Sauternes casks on their Small Batch blend, followed by exploring Italian Amarone and Recioto casks. The most recent addition focuses on Portugal's renowned wines harmonizing with Teeling's Small Batch blend, highlighting a continuous exploration of unique flavour profiles in each release.

The fifth release in the series innovates with top Portuguese wine barrels. It features ex-Red Wine Casks from Douro, Northern Portugal. This unique Irish Whiskey expression blends Old Vines style from Douro region, known for vibrant, full-bodied wines with rich black fruit and wood spice notes. The limited edition whiskey combines plum, acidity, and tannins from Douro Old Vines casks with Teeling Small Batch's floral and fruity hints.
