Founded in 1700, the Premier Grand Cru Classé Château Troplong Mondot produces one of the most beloved wines of Saint-Émilion.The vineyard is entirely managed using integrated viticultural practices. The vines are 30 years old on average and are cultivated on clay-limestone soils, a typical feature of the appellation.Tasting NotesA deep, dark red colour with purple highlights. On the nose it is pure and bright giving off notes of ripe fruit, cherry, crème de cassis and spices. As the owner since 2017, the company SCOR writes a new chapter in the history of the property and fully commits to a vision of the future developing Troplong Mondot. This French leader in reinsurance gives an impulse to a renovation program which will enhance the terroir’s characteristics while being involved in the development of their biodiversity.
Today, with tenacity and generosity, everyone contributes in the pursuit of excellence, whilst drawing on this indefinable sense of happiness at doing it together.

| Critics Review | Decanter - Jane Anson 96 PointsTroplong-Mondot is always a muscular wine that I found hard to understand until I walked the clay-over-limestone soil of the vineyard. Recent years have seen the power tempered a little by allowing the yields to creep a little higher, and the 2015 displays a balance that I didn't find here in 2009 or even 2010. It's a naturally powerful expression of Merlot which you feel straight away on the nose, displaying finessed and concentrated black fruits.
