Segredos de Sao Miguel

€13.95
In stock
From Herdade Sao Miguel in Portugal's Alentejo, this wine, the "secrets of Sao Miguel", is a smooth and silky red blend which really over-delivers on price. Made from Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, Touriga Nacional and Trincadeira, this will go down well with pasta, lamb, white meats and soft cheeses.

The Herdade is situated in the municipality of Redondo, enclosing 175 hectares of total area, of which only 35 are vines. 97 hectares contain cork trees, planted between 1998 and 1999.

In the rest of the territory, the responsible owners dedicate themselves to the breeding and conservation of local species close to extinction such as the 'Mirandela' donkey and the 'Garrano' horses of Gerês. Previously animals used for agriculture, but now endangered as automation has taken over.
