Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is a red wine that is most famously associated with Burgundy, but it also shines in other regions such as California, Germany and New Zealand. Throughout Europe it is called by other names like Spatburgunder in Germany and Pinot Nero in Italy. It's dubbed the "heartbreak" grape because it is so difficult to get right,  it’s every winemaker’s dream and nightmare. It's vulnerable to so many conditions and has broken many winemakers who planted it, others continue to aspire to making the perfect Pinot, because when it is done right, it's outstanding. It's one of the most loved red wines in the world and can either be "elegant & silky" or "fine & complex". It pairs with an array of foods such as salads, salmon, turkey and pizza.

Pinot Noir Day is celebrated annually on August 18th

On our shelves here at The Corkscrew you'll find both elegant & silky and fine and complex Pinots from France, Germany, Austria, Australia, New Zealand and  Tasmania, Australia, California and Canada.
