Since producing their first vintage of Merlot in 1983, they’ve been committed to making
the best possible expression of the variety. Understanding that site selection and
farming are key to exceptional Merlot, in 2014 they shifted their focus for sourcing to
the Napa side of Carneros, which produces consistently high-quality
wines from this noble grape.
Ripe aromas of black plum, black tea and mint on the nose with hints of pie crust, and vanilla. On the palate cherry and plum flavours are predominant with a touch of mint and hint of spice, all giving way to notes of dark chocolate and vanilla. Its signature palate is framed by very fine, yet soft tannins and a refreshing length, enhanced by its acidity.Beautiful paired with include Braised Short Ribs, Lasagna, Bolognese and Pan Roasted Rack of Lamb.ABV 14.5%

Established in 1980 by Koerner and Joan Rombauer, it is a family-owned winery based in Napa Valley. Passion, sustainability and great hospitality are at the forefront of their wine philosophy, and they produce a multitude of award-winning wines. Most notably, Rombauer Carneros Chardonnay, a defining style that has been on the Wine Spectator’s Top 100 wines multiple times.
Wines are still hand-harvested to preserve the highest quality, all vineyards are certified sustainable and the wines are distinctive, fruit-driven expressions of the land. They aim to produce wines that are approachable yet cellar worthy.
