Product Description
Château Boutisse is situated in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, at the heart of Saint-Émilion, with approximately 25 hectares of vines in one continuous holding on the appellation's prized clay-limestone plateau.
The estate was purchased by Xavier Milhade in 1996 and is now run by his children, Marc Milhade and Élodie Richard-Milhade. Over the years, the family has invested extensively in both the vineyards and winery, with a particular focus on precision, sustainability and allowing the character of the terroir to shine through. Grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted, with individual parcels vinified separately to allow for gentle, precise extraction.
Their work was rewarded in 2022 when Château Boutisse was promoted to Grand Cru Classé in the Saint-Émilion classification – making the 2022 vintage a particularly significant release for the estate. The vineyard has been HVE3 certified since 2018 and achieved organic certification in 2023.
