La Petite Côte is a 100% Viognier wine made from muscovite granite soils located in the centre of the Condrieu appellation. La Petite Côte should be drunk while young and fruity, revealing all its seductively fruity notes. Honeyed touches lend a little sweetness to this gourmet, fresh, spicy wine which finishes with an attractive bitterness. Roast loin of pork with apple-onion chutney, coconut-lime fish with peanut sauce or boiled lobsters with tarragon butter make for a palate-pleasing combination.

The grapes for all of Cuilleron's Condrieu's are harvested by hand, and when you see the precipitous slopes of the appellation you can see why. All the wines are fermented in French oak barrels. A portion of the wine is then aged in oak while the remainder is transferred to tank to await the blending.

Critics Review | 94 points Vinous "Pale, green-hued straw. Suave, mineral-accented citrus and pit fruit aromas are complemented by suggestions of violet and ginger. Silky and focused on the palate, offering energetic Meyer lemon and Anjou pear flavours that deepen steadily on the back half. Finishes impressively long, smooth and precise, showing a building mineral quality and a touch of spiciness." (JR) (5/2020) |
