  8. Mouchao Alentejo 2012

    Mouchao Alentejo 2012

    €52.95

The 2009 TINTO opens tight, with strong herbal notes, a little roasted cherry nuance, and, after extended aeration, a touch of game. It has fine mid-palate concentration. The Alicante Bouschet (80%) seems quite ripe and the Trincadeira (20%) seems a bit assertive, likely responsible for a little funk. It is a complex flavor profile that I suspect will not be to everyone’s taste, but those who like it will probably love the wine. As always with this winery, it is a well constructed wine with a lingering finish that should age very well. It shows far better the next day, when its structure finally had a chance to show its stuff. Drink Now-2026 17.5/20 Jancis Robinson Learn More
