    €24.95

By blending some Loureiro and Caíño with Albariño, Terras Gauda achieves a complexity that Albariño rarely comes to on its own. All manner of citrus fruits, several colors of apples and pears, and even a few hints of tropical notes contribute to the layers. And the nose and mouth exhibit not just honey but beeswax, a telltale sign of slate in the vineyards (just ask those Riesling producers). Drink now or in the next several years. Learn More

  8. Pascal Jolivet Sancerre 2017

    Pascal Jolivet Sancerre 2017

    €32.95

Each terroir is vinified separately in thermo-regulated stainless steel tank. Limestone brings minerality and finesse. Limestone clay enhances fruit and richness. Flint provides structure and minerality.

  12. Vina Tondonia Reserva Blanco 2005

    Vina Tondonia Reserva Blanco 2005

A legendary white Rioja. Expressive complex and developed aromas of dried fruit, spice and oak yet also displays a pleasing freshness. 13. Champagne Drappier Carte d'Or Brut NV

Champagne Drappier Carte d'Or Brut NV

    €44.95

The Carte d’Or cuvée is the very expression of the Drappier style. With its very high proportion of Pinot Noir, one is almost tasting a Blanc de Noirs. Champagne with a fine aromatic richness, it opens with aromas of stoned fruits such as white vineyard peach. A spicy hint announces a powerful and complex palate. A vinous Champagne of lovely complexity with a characteristic note of quince jelly. Learn More
  14. Vina Tondonia Reserva Tinto 2005

    Vina Tondonia Reserva Tinto 2005

    €44.95

Made from 75% Tempranillo, 15% Garnacho (yes, not Garnacha) and a 10% combination of Graciano and Mazuelo, this is an immediately seductive wine with lifted aromas that entice the palate of macerated red berries and a touch of cured meats. The wine leaves a scent in the glass that is really quite magical, drawing you into a succulent palate which is broader and richer than its predecessor. Despite its six years in barrel and a further six in bottle, the 2005 Tinto Reserva manages to retain a core of rich red fruit which is perfectly complemented by the more mature, tertiary characters of its age. Learn More
  15. Yalumba 'The Signature' Cabernet Shiraz 2012

Yalumba 'The Signature' Cabernet Shiraz 2012

    €49.95

A seductively aromatic wine, this is one of the very best Signatures. Opening with very cool, bright and almost fresh menthol aromas that merge with red currant fruits, tobacco leafy notes and cedary spices all supported with fine violet and cherry florals. A wine with great cellaring potential of 15 or more years.

Excellent ...The Cabernet and Shiraz grapes derive from old vine material in the Eden Valley and Barossa Valley. After batch-vinification the wine completes fermentation in barrel, followed by maturation in Yalumba-coopered new and seasoned American and French oak. It is typified by rich plum/dark chocolate/panforte aromas and flavours, dense, chalky tannins, superb generosity of fruit and underlying savoury oak. Learn More

This single vineyard wine from Von Winning is one of the great wines of their estate. Voted the tenth best Riesling in Germany, it is simply sensational. 17. Royal Oporto 20 Year Old Tawny Port

Royal Oporto 20 Year Old Tawny Port

    €59.95

This is the 20 Year old blend from one of Porto's oldest and most established producers. It is focused and full-bodied, but never cloying or overly-heavy. Delicious! Learn More
  18. Château Musar Bekaa Valley 2004

    Château Musar Bekaa Valley 2004

    €64.95

A little reductive on first nose, quieter than the 2000 or 1998 showing dry herbaceous and cedary notes on top. The palate however opens up and the true wine shines through, juicy, sumptuous almost, Majool dates or plum jam spring to mind. A short heatwave just as harvest approached may explain this. Long life expected from this wine. We suspect this wine may just keep on giving for many years. Learn More
  19. Château Musar Bekaa Valley 2000

    Château Musar Bekaa Valley 2000

    €67.95

The 2000 is a more traditional Musar we would say, the nose shows mature notes, cloves, spices, stewed plums, dates, almost relish like sweet & sour. The palate is dense, still lots of weight, richness (a little more Cabernet in the final blend) and time left in this wine, definitely our favourite at a recent tasting in early Nov 2015 Learn More
  20. Château Musar Bekaa Valley 1998

    Château Musar Bekaa Valley 1998

    €71.95

A wine that's right now in a great spot, showing a savoury elegance, earthy, fresh and completely balanced with a silky slow burning tobacco, gamey, blackberry fruit finale. Learn More
  21. Champagne Drappier Quattuour Blanc de Blancs

Champagne Drappier Quattuour Blanc de Blancs

    €84.95

Aromas of very fresh grapes and citrus fruits evolving towards notes of honeyed apples and fig jam, borne by a bouquet of white flowers. On the palate, a Champagne with great freshness, mineral and chiselled, and a very persistent finish. Learn More
  22. Chateau Gloria 2011

    Chateau Gloria 2011

    €89.95

    Wine Spectator 90 Points

Mouthfilling, offering a fleshy, briary feel to the plum sauce, steeped currant and blackberry notes, with extra anise, tar and fruitcake details pumping through the finish. Lacks a little refinement in terms of structure, but this offers solid range and depth. Best from 2016 through 2024. Tasted twice, with consistent notes Learn More
  23. Bollinger La Grande Année Champage 2007

Bollinger La Grande Année Champage 2007

    €127.95

A rich lemon colour in the glass, the fermentation of the base wine in oak and a long period of maturation in bottle is immediately evident in the colour of this 2005 Bollinger “La Grande Annee”. Whilst the aromas of this Champagne are not particularly pronounced, there is a persistent chalkiness, enlivened by wild flowers and apple aromas. A somewhat reticent toastiness and brioche sweetness appears slowly with a hint of ginger.

Gorgeously rich and luxuriously creamy on the palate, this 2005 Bollinger “La Grande Annee” retains balance by offsetting the richer peach, brioche and toasted notes by including the acidity and flavour of a red apple’s flesh and that persistent chalky minerality. There is certainly power here, but nuance too and few vintage Champagnes offer length greater length than this 2005 Bollinger “La Grande Annee”. Learn More
  24. Chateau Langoa Barton St. Julien 2010

Chateau Langoa Barton St. Julien 2010

    €135.00

Exceptionally fragrant this year, this Ch. Langoa Barton wine displays enticing aromas of both red and black fruits. The fruit continues strongly on the palate, but the wine retains a very fine elegance, while the tannins and acidity imbue it with an excellent structure, and there is excellent persistence and length on the finish. I usually find that I prefer Léoville-Barton to Langoa Barton at this early stage but this is an exceptionally fine Langoa; it may well be in the lead for now.
