Must Have Malbec Case

€164.70
In stock
Malbec's lush ripe fruit, distinct spiciness and velvety texture make this varietal hugely appealing. It is much more than just a wine. It is elegant, versatile and incredibly diverse, each bottle expressing the characteristics of terroir and region. While most would suggest to pair it with red meats, it’s versatile enough to stand up to spicy Indian, Mexican or Thai food, but a medium bodied wine like Malbec will make a Kit-Kat taste like a chocolate dipped blackberry. There are many reasons to explain why Malbec continues to transcend borders and is chosen more and more, but there is one that is unanimous, it's delicious and this case will prove just that!!

The Wines Are...

Don David, Reserve Malbec 2018
The Don David range are the flagship wines of the Bodega El Esteco estate named in homage to the winery founder David Michel.
Everything you could want in a Malbec; plum jam, tobacco, dark chocolate, and vanilla come together in this medium to full bodied wine with a long-lasting finish.

Catena Appellation Lunlunta Malbec 2018
Lunlunta is an idyllic district of small orchards and tree-lined country roads, well known for its ancient Malbec vines and silty-clay soils. From vines 65 years old this Lunlunta Malbec displays black and red berry aromatics, a lengthy mid-palate and a ripe silky finish.

Clos de Gamot, Cahors, South France, 2015
Malbec, the grape that built Cahors, vinified by the most iconic winemaking family of the region- it’s a must try!!
This is beautifully expressive of its terroir. Red cherries, leafy tea, wild herbs, pepper and liquorice, a garrigue-style Cahors with gentle Burgundian extraction.

Pascual Toso, Selected Vines Malbec, Mendoza 2018
This fine wine is produced Las Barrancas, Maipú, one of the best wine - growing areas in Mendoza.
Unctuous but delicate. An elegant, deeply fruity and long finish is the right balance between the natural expression of the grapes and the ageing in oak barrels.

Zorazal, Field Blend, Cabernet Sauvignon / Malbec 2016
Zorzal is a young, boutique winery that was founded in 2007 by the Michelini brothers, and also the highest winery in Mendoza. This is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Malbec.
It has an expressive bouquet of red fruits combined with notes of red peppers: subtlety and elegance, with a hint of vanilla and coconut. The wine has great structure and volume, a silken body with textured tannins: the acidity adds great freshness, making this a very direct wine.

Catena Alta, Historic Rows Malbec 2017
Catena Zapata is one of the best known wineries in Argentina and is known for its pioneering role in resurrecting Malbec and in discovering extreme high altitude terroirs in the Andean foothills of Mendoza.
This Catena Alta Malbec presents a dark, opaque violet colour, almost blackish in hue. The nose offers freshly ground, ripe berry fruits with layers of wild flowers, cinnamon spice, and a touch of citrus. The mouthfeel is full and coating, with exceptional weight and concentration but with a soft, supple texture. The mid palate offers rich cassis and black currant fruit flavours interwoven with hints of chocolate, vanilla and black pepper. The lengthy finish shows wonderful minerality, with fine-grained tannins and lively acidity.
