  2. Massolino Barolo 2013

    Massolino Barolo 2013

    €51.95

Bright ruby-garnet in colour with an intense nose, perfumes of dark fruit and a touch of cloves with a savoury, herbal note. On the palate it is full-bodied yet elegant, with plenty of robust but ripe tannins supporting the dark, dried plum and autumn compote fruit character and balancing the acidity. Long and fine, with perfumes of roses and violets on the finish. Learn More
  3. Pio Cesare Barolo 2014

    Pio Cesare Barolo 2014

    €65.95

A classic Barolo in style. Great structure and balance, with soft, almost mild, tannins and beautifully ripened fruit. Approachable now, but it has a very long life ahead of it. While most of the attention at Pio Cesare goes to the Barolo Ornato, this is the hidden beauty in this lineup. This Barolo is a multi-commune blend. Most of the fruit (60%) comes from the less well-exposed portions of the family’s Ornato vineyard, while the rest of the fruit is sourced from plots in La Morra, Castiglione Falletto, Serralunga, Novello and Grinzane Cavour. 4. Isole e Olena Cepparello 2014

    Isole e Olena Cepparello 2014

    €90.00

Bright and clear ruby red. The enticing nose shows rich aromas of red fruits and cherries along with a touch of spice from the well judged use of oak. The palate shows the typical supple fruit and well-balanced structure of a great Cepparello, as well as elegant, fine tannins and a persistent finish. Learn More
  5. Gaja Sori Tildin 2003

    Gaja Sori Tildin 2003

    €395.00

Even in the super-hot 2003 vintage, Gaja’s Sori Tildin displays its pedigree, with its dark ruby color, finely nuanced, detailed aromatics and layers of ripe red fruit that gradually reveal themselves as this exquisite wine sits in the glass. Offering extraordinary depth of expression as well length on the palate along with great overall balance, it is another remarkable wine from Angelo Gaja. As is usually the case, I also find it to be the most classic of the single-vineyard wines. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2025.94+ Robert Parker

  6. Gaja Costa Russi 2003

    Gaja Costa Russi 2003

    €395.00

The 2003 Costa Russi is a noticeably bigger and more powerful wine than the Barbaresco. Although it is less expressive in its aromatics, it shows greater palate presence, with suggestions of super-ripe black cherries, tobacco and earthiness on a full-bodied frame with notable depth and a concentrated yet open-knit personality. It offers excellent balance, yet the hard tannins of the vintage are most penalizing in the Costa Russi and this wine comes across as somewhat heavy and ponderous in style, lacking the characteristic elegance of Gaja’s best wines. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2020.
