New Arrivals

We hope you're taking care out there today, in a year in which many days have felt as ominous as Friday the 13th, we now face another actual Friday the 13th. Thankfully it's the last one 2020 will be dishing out, and so far it's been good to us. We very were pleasantly surprised to learn that our stunning new selection from Felix Callejo has safely arrived. We discovered these at a tasting over the summer and have been eagerly awaiting to enjoy them again since.

Felix Callejo is one of the wineries in Ribera del Duero that best manages to show, through its wines, the maximum expression of the Tinta Fina variety and the terroir from which it comes. All the details are available by clicking the wines but we've just included the short winemakers tasting notes!! These wines have toured the world and have been given to and reviewed by the best tasters and now they're finally available in Ireland.

El Lebrero Blanco 2019

There's probably a good chance you haven't tried anything like this before. We're one of the first wine importers in Ireland to have white Ribera del Duero DO. It's made using a variety of albillo grapes which are harvested manually. As for the tasting note, the winemaker decribes it as "Yellow intense colour with golden reflections, clean and brilliant. In the nose it is intense, mature exotic fruits, white flowers, aromatic grasses, complex, mineral, spicy and balsamic bottom. In the mouth it is long, balanced, expressive, fruit-bearing recollections and end of mouth spiced and very long"

Flores De Callejo 2019

This is the youngest wine in  Felix Callejo  collection, inspired by a "search for fresheness" it represents "The virtue of simple things". An eye opening red described by the winemakers as having  "an attractive cherry colour with violet edges. On the nose, very aromatic, marked notes of wild berries, with hints of confectionery, balsamic. The mid-palate is meaty, active, with feelings of berries, cinnamon, spices, violets, balsamic and persistent primary end."

Callejo Gran Reserva 2014

Plenty of patience was required in the making of this "Great". Its colour is ruby cherry. Notes on the nose of ripe fruit, minerals, herbs, eucalyptus, white pepper, cocoa and hints of scrubland. The taste is fresh with sensations of red fruit, balsamic, cocoa berry, laurel and tannin still scarred.
