Tasting Events – Upstairs at No. 4

Construction is finally underway for Upstairs at No.4, our purpose built tasting rooms on Chatham Street.  We are delighted to welcome Ireland’s top Sommelier Julie Dupouy and Sommelier Marcin Kotwicki to host our first masterclasses (see details below).  The space is also available for private tasting events which can be customised to any theme.  Ideas include; Wines of France; Wines of the New World; Food and Wine Pairing and The Fundamentals of Wine.  For those of you who would like to further your wine knowledge, understand a wine menu or familiarise yourself with a region or style, we have a team of qualified experts ready to share their knowledge in a fun and relaxed environment.  

Julie Dupouy

The Corkscrew are very excited to team up with the world’s leading female Sommelier Julie Dupouy.  Julie started out in Ireland’s only 2 star Michelin restaurant Patrick Guillbaud’s and helped judge the 2018 Decanter Sommelier awards.  Julie always brings extensive experience (and a big warm smile!) to her classes and can adapt to any audience or level of tasting.  Beginners to established connoisseurs, she provides something for everyone!   Julie is in hot demand so we recommend booking her events early.

Marcin Kotwicki:

Marcin Kotwicki is a man of many trades: barista champion, established Sommelier, food aficionado, private events coordinator…  Like all of us at The Corkscrew, Marcin is crazy about food and wine!  He brings his unique training, wine knowledge and Polish food heritage to the guests of his private pop-up dinners.  Marcin will be customising a Polish Wine Workshop for those of you who are curious to try wines from a lesser known, upcoming region.  Poland produced wine in the warmer times of the middle ages and there has been a recent resurgence in vinicultural activity, partly due to increasing global temperatures.  This is an extremely unique opportunity to taste indigenous Polish varieties.
