Details
Along the banks of the River Marne and close to the Mareuil sur Aÿ Roman church, which is situated in the middle of its own vineyards, Champagne Philipponnat produces wines with an exceptional house style. The main courtyard opens onto a beautiful classic façade situated just behind a gate stamped with the family coat of arms. Here lies the heart of Philipponnat - its XVIIIth Century cellars where, shielded from the world, its wines slowly mature. The range of Philipponnat Champagnes are designed to be appreciated by a broad spectrum of wine lovers. From its flagship Brut Royale Réserve to the connoisseur's choice, Clos des Goisses, Philipponnat Champagnes are full-bodied, structured yet still fresh and distinctive due to the dominance of the Pinot Noir grape. Between 600,000 to 700,000 bottles are produced each year.
This Réserve Rosé is true to the tradition of style at the House of Philipponnat where taste takes precedence over colour, combining intensity, freshness, and elegance. A non-vintage wine like the Royale Réserve, this Réserve Rosée abides by the historic tradition of style at the House of Philipponnat. The majority of the blend comprises the rich and powerful grapes from the beautiful vineyards of Montagne de Reims in Ay and Mareuil-sur-Ay and its three year ageing process gives it a pleasant complexity without taking anything away from its freshness. This fine rosé is dry yet fruity with hints of strawberries, red currants, and candied fruit peel. It makes a lovely accompaniment for smoked meats and fish, pork butchery, as well as desserts made with red berries, or simply on its own.
