Planted in 2001 and 2002 the row and vine spacing has been reduced giving us 5000 vines per hectare. There are a range of different clones fermented together. They rarely move the wine during fermentation and when possible movements are by gravity or pressure to reduce the effects of pumping. To ensure quality and uniformity this wine is a single batch, bottled under a screw cap closure, because they regard bottle and batch variation as unacceptable “things of the past”. High quality attention indeed. Since 2007 Muddy Water’s estate vineyards have been farmed organically, but they will only achieve full organic certification after the 2010 vintage. This wine is stunning. Elegant, smooth and absolutely georgeous. The wine is already starting to show the concentration and complexity that they believe will be the hallmark of this vineyard. This wine will benefit from decanting about half an hour before serving.

From their Grower's Series, this Chardonnay is produced from fruit sourced from a site near the township of Waipara that is currently undergoing transition to organic certification. Complex and aromatic in the glass, the nose of this wine shows fine-fruit characters with significant oak influence. The palate is creamy and deliciously smooth, featuring those fine fruit flavours again; stonefruit and grilled nuts, along with plenty of quality oak influence, which should, with time, integrate more subtly. There is good concentration on the palate and really satisfying depth of flavour. Although still youthful at this time, this is quality wine that will reward lovers of ripe, creamy chardonnays with its finesse and complexity.

</p>
<p>
Their wines have authentic Sicilian soul but modern expression. Barone Montalto wines are the result of careful selection of grapes and winemaking that is respectful to the natural characteristics of the grapes from which they come.
</p>
<p>
The grapes are grown in Sicily's Belice valley, 350 metres above sea level, with south-southeast facing vineyards.
</p>
<p>
Grown on dark alluvial soils and deep, medium-textured, sandy clay, with silt composition and a good organic matter content.
</p>
<p>
Wine obtained from the vinification of certified organic grapes. 60% of the Cataratto is fermented in French barrels, the remaining part in steel at 12-14 ° C for 20 days. Ageing 3 months with weekly bâtonnage.
</p>
<p>
Straw yellow in colour, the nose is fresh with a trace of honeysuckle and lemongrass. In the mouth has a good body and a certain minerality stands highlighted by a hint of balancing acidity.
</p>
<p>
It combines well with cold seafood, soups and Pecorino well seasoned. To be eaten also pizzas and pastas made with certified organic ingredients - if you can!

The success of Mouton Cadet meant that grapes were quickly brought in from other vineyards to boost production, first from Pauillac and then from neighbouring appellations. Apart from a small halt during World War II, the wine has grown steadily since, taking on grapes from more appellations as it did so, and finally signing up to the AOC Bordeaux appellation in 1947, as it had long since lost the ability to be classified as AOC Pauillac. In fact today, for all the Mouton Cadet wines except the AOC Medoc (made by 12 producers in the northern reaches of the peninsula), not a single vineyard is located in the Medoc. And not a single vineyard is owned by DBPR; all wine is bought in once fully vinified from 350 producers who are located over 2,200 hectares of vines entirely on the Right Bank, mainly in Entre deux Mers and the Cotes de Bordeaux.

Its quality is as legendary as the quote from Madame Bollinger, which we never tire of hearing: "I drink it when I'm happy and when I'm sad. Sometimes I drink it when I'm alone. When I have company I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it if I'm not hungry and I drink it when I am. Otherwise I never touch it. Unless I'm thirsty."

Expressive on the nose, with a broad range of aromas that denote tremendous complexity, featuring red fruit such as cherry, cassis, and raspberry, subtler notes of red currant, tobacco, and hazelnuts, and some balsamic tones. Voluptuous on the palate, this wine features extremely fine, firm, and sweet tannins along with bitter chocolate, cherries, and sweet spice flavours. Its outstanding acidity gives the wine a youthful, refreshing feeling, which presages an excellent cellaring
potential.
