Details
With previous experiences in the wine industry including vineyard manager for all of negociant Andre Lurton’s holdings in Bordeaux, Maurice Robert bought Chateau Turcaud in 1973. At the time, it consisted of an old rundown house, 18 ha of land, only a third of which was planted with vines. For years, Robert split his time between his day job at Lurton and Chateau Turcaud.
Today, and after much effort and hard-work the property, located 25 km south of Saint-Emilion is an immaculate 45-ha vineyard, planted on gravely slopes, the house, now completely renovated, adjoins the meticulously maintained and well-equipped winery in the back. Stephane and Isabelle Le May (Maurice Robert’s daughter) are now in charge.
