A gorgeous bend of great Rhone grapes, Syrah (50%), Cinsault (30%), Grenache (20%). Grapes are hand-picked and distemmed before vinification. To keep the freshness of the fruit, both the fermetation and the ageing process is in tank. During the alcoholic fermentation, berries macerate for 12 days with their skins. The wine ages 6 months in a tank and it is filtered before being bottled. An unctuous, rich and beautiful wine with cherry aromas. Domaine Chaume-Arnaud Vinsobres 2010
€20.95This is a blend of 60% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre, 5% Carignan, and 5% Cinsault. The fruit was hand-harvested, destemmed, fermented with indigenous yeasts, and aged in concrete tanks. This wine is a medium opaque, grapey-purple color. Over two nights the nose remained subtle with dark aromas. In the mouth there are plenty of blue-black fruits that are ripe and muscular from the get-go. The spices mix with ripe tannins which dry the cheeks before taking on a fine quality in the aftertaste. Moulin de la Gardette Gigondas 2009
€27.95Composed of 80% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre and 10% Cinsault grapes from vines between 20 and 60 years old on the Moulin de la Gardette hillsides, at elevations from 100m to 300m. The crop is hand-picked (of course) and 100% destemmed but does not pass through a crusher, so that many of the berries ferment whole. The must is allowed to ferment at its own pace using just the natural yeasts to preserve the consistent Moulin de la Gardette character from one vintage to the next.
