    Montevertine Pian del Ciampolo 2009

    €21.95

There are approximately 10 hectares of vineyards at Montevertine planted almost exclusively to the Sangiovese grape. Small amounts of Colorino and Canaiolo are planted to supplement the Sangiovese. Some Malvasia is planted as well. Wine production at Montevertine is essentially devoted to three wines. The Pian del Ciampolo, composed of Sangiovese with a tiny amount of Canaiolo blended in, is the basic red wine of the estate. It sees 18 months of ageing in large barrels and is the most precocious of the wines. Learn More

  3. Masciarelli Iskra Colli Apruntino Montelpulciano 2004

Masciarelli Iskra Colli Apruntino Montelpulciano 2004

    €34.95

Iskra, "The Spark", is a jewel in the Masciarelli portfolio. The vineyard is located in Contraguerra, near Monte Amaro. Contraguerra, the remains of an ancient, battered seaside mountain, has gathered its soils from an ancient sea bed, the Trento River basin, and the glacial washout from Monte Piselli. With its rich, well drained soils and its ocean moderated warm climate, Contraguerra is home to the biggest, boldest, ripest reds in Abruzzo. Learn More

Bussola TB Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2006

    €35.95

    Out of stock

This is an ultra-powerful, super-concentrated, Amarone-busting, monumental red wine from one of our favourite new producers that we began selling last Autumn. It is a full Ripasso, but they only declare a Classico status. The palate is balanced and rich with flavours of intense cherry and sweet spices. We love it and we know you will too. Learn More

    Marina Cvetic Chardonnay 2008

    €37.95

"Masciarelli is a refrence point producer for rich, internationally styled wines from Abruzzo", so says Robert Parker and he's not wrong. This is toasty, creamy, smooth and rich. The fruit is tropical, the texture enveloping. A hedonistic style and a benchmark for this Chardonnay style. Learn More

    Bussola TB l'Errante 2004

    €40.00

Continuing Bussola's idiosyncratic thinking outside of the box, this is a Veronese Bordeaux blend! It's huge and delicious in equal measures. Though we officially "disapprove" of these experimental things, we can't help loving this stuff very dearly indeed! Learn More
