  1. Catena Malbec 2015

    Catena Malbec 2015

This is one of the best value wines that we sell - a textbook Malbec that is ripe and full, smooth and versatile and very good value!

Malbec shows a dark violet colour with deep bluish - black tones. The nose has ripe, concentrated dark fruit aromas with delicate floral notes and traces of vanilla and mocha. The mouthfeel is rich and lush, with concentrated black cherry and red currant fruit flavours layered with sweet spices, tobacco and a touch of leather. The finish is soft with supple tannins that have bright, crisp acidity and a flinty minerality which gives the wine exceptional length. Learn More
  2. Fatalone Primitvo Gioia del Colle

    Fatalone Primitvo Gioia del Colle

Fatalone’ means seducer in the local dialect and well-named-it is a perfect balance of smoothness, freshness and minerality. Ruby red intense colour with violet glints. Scent and taste typically fruity of berries and slightly of black sour cherry and plum with some spicy and balsamic notes. Aftertaste of toasted almond, typical of the Primitivo of Gioia del Colle. 3. Wieninger Wiener Trilogie 2012

    Wieninger Wiener Trilogie 2012

The Wiener Trilogie 2012 is a cuvée blend of 70% Zweigelt, 15% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon – all of which were harvested at different times. The wine yields scents of red berry fruit underscored by subtle Zweigelt spice with some tones of moss and wet leaves. Juicy, spicy cherry fruit interwoven with subtle tannins line the palate. The Wiener Trilogie is certainly not a thick, fat new world wine; it makes for pleasurable drinking and as an optimal meal companion.

  6. Pio Cesare Barolo 2012

    Pio Cesare Barolo 2012

A classic Barolo in style. Great structure and balance, with soft, almost mild, tannins and beautifully ripened fruit. Approachable now, but it has a very long life ahead of it. While most of the attention at Pio Cesare goes to the Barolo Ornato, this is the hidden beauty in this lineup. This Barolo is a multi-commune blend. Most of the fruit (60%) comes from the less well-exposed portions of the family’s Ornato vineyard, while the rest of the fruit is sourced from plots in La Morra, Castiglione Falletto, Serralunga, Novello and Grinzane Cavour. 7. Le Pavillon Ermitage 2002 (91 Points Robert Parker)

Le Pavillon Ermitage 2002 (91 Points Robert Parker)

"As extraordinary as the 2003s are, I was also blown away by the 2002s produced by Chapoutier, some of which are among the top wines of this challenging vintage. As I have said so many times over the last 15 years, the top Chapoutier wines are meant for very long term drinking, and are not designed for immediate gratification. Everything Chapoutier is doing, from his bio-dynamically farmed vineyard to tiny yields, extended fermentations, indigenous yeasts, and no fining or filtration, is done to produce the essence of a vineyard and a vintage. His track record since 1989 and 1990 admirably proves that these are indeed remarkable wines made by a young genius who refuses to compromise. Michel Chapoutier has been misunderstood by some of his peers, and there is a lot of jealousy when someone this young is so incredibly talented, but it is an irrefutable fact that these are wines of singular greatness as well as longevity."

  8. Taylor's Vintage Port 2003

    Taylor's Vintage Port 2003

The 2003 Taylor’s has a lovely ripe, primal bouquet of blackberry, raspberry, vanilla and marmalade that shows slightly better delineation than the Fonseca. The palate is medium-bodied with very composed, refined tannins that belie the heat of that summer. Learn More
