Bordeaux 2010 has been lauded as another vintage of the century, following on from 2009. Far from being cynical it still seems to hold true.

What this means for you is that we have access to some of the most revered names in Bordeaux. Sign up for updates below and we'll send out en primeur offers as we get them.

What is en primeur?

While it's not for everyone, buying wine while still "in barrel" can save you money, sometimes up to 50% and secure wines in high demand. In good years, like 2010, it means you're getting wines at the cheapest they'll ever be, particularly with the ever growing demand for these wines in the east.

The concept of en primeur involves purchasing wines whilst they are still maturing in the vineyard’s cellar, prior to release.

The wines are usually shipped 2-3 years after the vintage.

Why buy en primeur?

Because you expect the en primeur price to be less than the future price of the wine once shipped.

More importantly, it can also be the only way to secure wines that are made in very limited quantities, or for which there is particularly high demand.

Prices quoted "In bond"

The price of the wine is quoted 'In Bond' (i.e. exclusive of excise duty and VAT).

Upon arrival in the country, excise duty and VAT, at the prevailing rate, becomes payable on delivery of the wine to you.
