The Vacheron domaine has about 43.5 hectares of vines, nearly all of which is in the town of Sancerre.
They have been strong pioneers of organic and biodynamic viticulture and today they are one of the largest and most successful natural producers in the region. They use traditional tillage systems and fortifying the vineyards with nettle and herbal preparations that they believe return the nutrients to the soil. They are in the very best sub-region for Sancerre production.
Dry white Vacheron wines are typically pure and elegant, with notes of flint and minerality; there is a great tension between fruit flavour and structure, which allows the purity of fruit to shine through.
