In the small sheltered village of Saint-Aubin, located between Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, wonderful white wines are produced at the Chateau de Santenay, which used to be known as Chateau Phillipe le Hardi after the duke of Burgundy a one time owner in the late 1300’s. It’s within the village of St. Aubin that the 'Clos Philippe le Hardi' – a Monopole vineyard of some 30 acres. Abandoned after the Second World War, this vineyard has been completely rejuvenated during the 90's.
