Casa Emma Chianti Classico Riserva 2007

This shows the benefit of legal restrictions on the use of certain words in wine – Riserva here means an enormously important change occurs in the wine. It is more concentrated, tannic and restrained than the non-Riserva and as a result holds up to heavier food dishes and can even benefit from decanting and cellaring.

The palate and nose show flavours of mocha and cedar wood, which are backed up by intense black and Morello cherries.
